The general direction of the ox is north – northeast or 7.5 degrees – 37.5 degrees in the compass. This sector of the house, lot, business office or hall occupies 30 degrees and is the part of the area considered as very lucky for those born in the year of the ox. If you were born in the early part of January of the year mentioned, you still belong to the previous sign which is the “rat”. Likewise, if your birthday falls in the early part of January of the next year, you still belong to the ox’s realm.

The element that dominates the year is the earth. Therefore, agriculture and any earth related business will benefit from the elemental energy. Real estate and construction, horticulture, pottery, paper products, geodetics, book printing and production, print media, earth derived food and medicine are among these businesses.

Banking, financing, insurance, and other big-time businesses have suffered at the start of the solar and lunar eclipses in 2007 which drained the earth of so much energy. Although the negative effect of the eclipses still goes on until 2018. There will be a positive effect on small scale businesses and industries specially those who are just starting or will open up a small one. The year 2009 is the healing period that will lead to recovery. But recovery will be very slow and the negative effect felt during the year of the rat will linger until the third quarter.

The economic crisis that the world is experiencing now is just the beginning of the effect of the “earth’s” drain of energies brought about the eclipses. Mining and petroleum are also negatively affected. The US dollar will have a hard time recovering and the Euro dollar will slightly be unstable. Arab and some Asian currencies will slightly gain power again towards the year end. There will be more frequent sea disaster this year than the previous one. It will be safer to travel by air. There will be massive soil erosions, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides that will start the slow but certain reshaping of the earth. Some new islands will be discovered as old ones will slowly disappear. Massive reforestation and urban greening will help stop or slow down the earth’s reshaping. It is not too late to go to the basics. The toils we will put shall be rewarded by Mother Nature immediately.

Although agriculture and horticulture industries will see improvements, scientists most hasten the development of crops and plants that are durable and hardy against water-log. There will be more need for water purification and treatment. This will be good for Feng Shui plant enthusiasts. Because this year, there will be less but very destructive rains. New water sources must be sought to avert drought. Massive water recycling and purifying projects should be given more attention than petroleum and its by-products.

U.S.A. will lessen its involvement in the Middle East because of its many internal problems. This will prove to be good because as the new president focuses his attention and efforts inward, the external problems will slowly be solved. Eventually, U.S. economy will be a little bit better towards the last quarter.

The Philippines’ governing power may lose its grip on the helm. Its problems will be compounded by unemployment, poverty, starvation, agrarian and labor unrest that must be addressed early this year.

Priority to support small-scale industries and businesses through rushing of infrastructure projects without padding and cheating will avert a strongly possible collapse of the present regime. The “power” that be still has time to redeem itself.

Activate the southeast sector of the business establishments, schools, homes. This is the first- level sector that will benefit from the auspicious energy of 2009. In this sector, lights and positive energy-giving sounds must be used. Moving water from a mini fountain, an aquarium (even without fish) whose aerator is on, etc.

Place a working table, a study table, reception desk, store counter, money or document receiving area, front door, display window located in the east will benefit from the energy of the earth ox.

The northwest sector can be the second choice in choosing directions. Sector to activate in this location, short term solutions or immediate results can be expected.

The southwest sector offers long-term solutions. Here, businesses that need long periods to transact, materialize and result will benefit. Those born in the year of the snake, dragon, tiger and monkey will enjoy an excellent year.

For wealth luck into the earthly branch sector, those born in the year of the ox, here are some tips for enhancements:

• Place a figure of a decorated cow (a picture will be equally effective) in the north-northeast sector of your house. You can also use any figure or picture of any animal belonging to the cow’s family. The best materials for the image are ceramics, claystone, crystal and clay.
• You can also activate the lucky sector with any earth element, featured decorations such as globe, bowl, jar preferably with cows painted
• If the north-northeast sector of your home is afflicted with a toilet or kitchen located there, your luck energy is greatly harmed by the negative energy. Place a small mirror directly above the toilet bowl so that the downward flow of the water being flushed will be pulled up by the mirror’s reflection. If the kitchen is in the n-ne sector of the house, place a blue or black metal bowl filled with water near the stove to cool down the bad effect of the fire’s energy.
• Two other compass directions or sectors can be considered very auspicious for the ox. These are the south – southwest sector of the snake and the west which is the rooster’s sector. In these directions or sectors, place images or figurines of these animals together with yours. People born in the signs of snake and rooster can put an image or figure of the ox in their own designated sectors.
• The monkey is the ox’s friend, its sector is west-southwest. A picture or figurine of the monkey in the said direction can give protection and security to the ox natives.
• Since the goat or sheep is the conflict animal of the ox, the year 2009 may not be smooth nor stable. The “goat” people must keep an image of the tiger at the south-southwest and an image of the sheep on the east-northeast. The boar and the rabbit are the goat’s allied friends, hence he or she must also keep images of these animals in the south-southwest.
• The ox native will experience good family luck and great career development as well as business endeavors. This will be enhanced by displaying a picture or figure of a dragon card in his or her sector or on the south and east sectors of the home, office, business place.
• The rat will have moderately good year in 2009. Water feature in the north will be good but the image of the ox in the n-ne will be better.
• The tiger must put a water feature in the north to reduce conflicts of ideas, confrontations and quarrels with family, friends and colleagues. Patience will be heightened by powerful peace amulets to ensure that the year does not end in disaster. Surround yourself with images of the tigers.
• This year will be a difficult one for the rabbit. Place the image of the laughing Buddha in the east to absorb the bad energies and problems.
• There will be serious disputes for the dragons during the year of the ox. On the southwest place a crystal ball, it will help the dragon rise above the disputes. Also use the laughing Buddha to create harmony.
• For the snake, career needs a boost in 2009. Create a water on the north. Place a pair Fu dogs on the front door of the house or a blue rhinoceros facing the door outwards. Also put a three legged frog sitting on coins near the front door just a few inches above the floor.
• The horse during the year of the ox must place an image of a horse in the south and ten emperor coins in the west. And for tremendous luck display a golden dragon on the east.
• The good fortune experienced by the goat or sheep in the year of the rat may diminish or be gone during its conflict year, 2009. Use a tortoise image to reduce losses. Place it in the wealth sector which is the southeast.
• The year of the ox will be moderately good to the monkey, display good fortune symbols to invite wealth energy. Place bright light in the south and a three-legged toad to improve business, a phoenix in the south will also be helpful.
• The year 2009 will be better for the rooster’s finances. Place prosperity and wealth symbols like gold ingots, money trees, etc. in the living room or office table. Display currencies of rich countries, a wish fulfilling cow on the southeast.
• The “dog” person should place two crystals in the southwest to ensure harmony in relationships this year to avoid disputes and conflicts.*the boar will have a lot of luck with money. But love relationships will suffer. Place a pair of mandarin ducks in your bedroom. Also place a blue rat in the north of your living or bedroom.
